Naughty or Nice...

Makeup artist Troy Jensen shows us how to rock a hot pink lip which is all the rage this season. His muse, Kim K, models a naughty look and a nice look.

Which do you prefer?

-Even out skin tone with liquid foundation and set with loose powder.-Dust a powder pink blush on the high apples of the cheeks.-Eye's that wow, blend a shimmery shadow on the entire eyelid and contour with a black shadow, then line the entire eye with a black eye pencil and curl and coat lashes with black mascara.

The skin and cheek are the same.-Sweet lined eye's, start by blending a concealer over the entire eye area and set with a loose powder, then dab a touch of pale cream shimmer on the entire eye lid and blend well. -Dust a bit of the pink powder blush onto the cheeks then across the eye lids for a hint of color. Line the entire eye with a black eye pencil and use a very thin eye lining brush to create the winged effect. Curl and coat lashes with a black mascara.- Groom brows with a brow pencil and brow gel.

Make-Up How To: Ashley Greene...

Lancôme makeup artist Darais worked with Ashley Greene for Cosmopolitan’s Fun Fearless Female party at the W hotel in Los Angeles. To created the Twilight star's young, fresh look, Darais did the following:

To played up her eyes, cheeks and lips, he used Lancôme’s Color Design Liberty Palette in Nude Elegance (NEW from the fall color collection Declaring Indigo) and then applied Lancôme Le Crayon Khôl in Black Coffee to the upper lash line to make Ashley’s eyes pop. Darais added some color to the cheeks with Lancôme Blush Subtil in Miel Glacé. To create her soft coral colored pout, Darais used Lancôme Color Fever Gloss in Solaire. Long, beautiful lashes are all the rage right now so Darais mixed a few Shu Uemura faux-lashes with Ashley’s natural lashes and then applied Lancôme Ôscillation Powerbooster to condition and strengthen the lashes. To finish the look, he coated Ashley’s lashes with several coats of Lancôme’s NEW mascara Hypnôse Drama (which goes on sale tomorrow exclusively at Sephora).

Did You Know?...

The first 5 ingredients on a product's label are what really matters. Meaning, if it's not at the top of the list, chances are there's not much of it in the product to make much of a difference.

So, I've been noticing a lot that companies are pushing hyaluronic acid (HA), a natural substance that helps keep skin smooth and plump through its ability to hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water, as a main ingredient in their moisturizers and serums. But when I look at the label, it's listed way down on the list. So what good is it doing if it's down there?

One company in particular sent me a serum to test. It's claim to fame was that the serum was super concentrated with the acid. Of course, I was excited and couldn't wait to get it. I've used a moisturizer with it before and absolutely luuuvvvvdd it and did notice a difference in my skin(more on that later). So I get the serum and check out the label and to my surprise, HA is the ninth ingredient on a list of 20+ ingredients. Now, I know that ninth isn't a horrible spot, but I would've expected it to be listed as the second or third ingredent on there since it's soooo "super concentrated" with the stuff.....no?

Just a thought, if you're planning on buying a product because of a particular ingredient, be sure to check the label!

Say Knot-Today To Tangles...

Hey everybody. Ohhhh how I've missed you. So sorry for the lack of posts, but work was really hectic for the last month and I also took a mini-vacay to Puerto Rico with m'girlz. I was still playig with my beauty products but just didn't have a chance to post about them. But don't fret, I'm BACK! Now let's get on with it.

So, one of my favorite things to do is read about fabulous women with fabulous beauty companies. Several months ago I stumbled on a line of products called Kinky-Curly. A line of products started six years ago by Shelley Davis with a whole bunch of good-for-your-hair ingredients. The most popular item seemed to be a conditioner called Knot - Today. (get it?...so cute). Anyway, as usual, off to Whole Foods I went to purchase.

Now, my daugher is my little guinea pig. If it can work on her whirl-of-curls, it can work on anyone's hair. After I washed her hair, I used the Knot Today as a leave-in condish. Normally, my daughter's hair is a tangled mess after washing, but KNOT TODAY...(lmao...I was dying to say that...haaaa)....This conditioner worked wonders on her hair and detangled it. After I applied it to her wet hair, I was able to finger comb through her hair. WHAT!..SOLD!

To get an idea of how much hair I was working with, here's a pic of her hair after I washed it and before I applied the condish:

Every single person I got to try this absolutely LOVES it! I've had frieds use it on themselves and on their little ones. It works great on all types of hair. Even if you do not have curly/wavy hair, it works as a great moisturizer and detangler. My hair is relaxed and I use it as a rinse-out conditioner. And the best part is that it's all natural and free of silicones, alcohol and mineral oil that coat and weigh your hair down.

The only thing is that this and her Curling Custard sell out so fast. I'm telling you, you literally have to jump on it when you see it. Salons and Whole Foods sell out of it so damn fast and takes forever to re-stock! I waited about one month for my local Whole Foods to get it back in!...arrrghhhh! But it's sooo worth it!
Have you tried the Kinky-Curly line?
