Recently Awarded Allure's ‘Reader's Choice Award’ for 2008, Bobbi B's gel eyeliner offers the precision of liquid liner and the ease of a gel-based formula. Once the color is on, it's long-wearing and water resistant. I recently got a set from QVC that included Chocolate Shimmer Ink and Graphite Shimmer Ink. Using the small brush that's incuded, you can create subtle to dramatic looks. I normally wear the brown during the day and the grayish-black at night. The shimmer is barely noticeable and the small pot will last forever!
Available wherever Bobbi Brown cosmetics are sold in 16 colors. $21 per pot.

Product Review - Chanel Mascara...
Recently I got the opportunity, thanks to Allure, to sample Chanel's new mascara, EXCEPTIONNEL DE CHANEL. With it's six-sided brush/comb wand, it's claims are to give your lashes intense volume and curl with clump-free, smudge-proof separation.
Here is a pick of the before and after of my upper lashes after two coats.
As you can see, it definitely defined my lashes more and made them more visible, especially towards the outer corner of my eye. What I liked most about this mascara was that my lashes didn't have that hard, stiff feel I usually get when I wear mascara. True to it's claim, I had no clumps and it WAS smudge-proof. After about 10 minutes, I wiped and rubbed my eye and I had no residue on my finger.
Overall, it is a great mascara, if you're willing to spend the $28 for it!
Aubrey Organics Conditioners...
After reading DE's raves about the Aubrey Organics conditioners, I decided to give the line a try. A few months ago, mid June-ish, I went on the website and was completely overwhelmed with the many options. So I called the company and got a quick consult over the phone. After speaking with the rep, she recommended the Island Naturals shampoo/conditioner.
So, I purchased the two at Whole Foods and have been in love with the conditioner since. The shampoo, on the other hand, I didn't fancy. After washing with the shampoo, my hair had that squeaky - clean feeling. Um, I HATE that! I feel like it stripped my hair and made it super dry. But I'm guessing it's because it's an all natural shampoo and there aren't any silicones and other stuff coating my hair, which I guess is a good thing???? Afterwards, I applied the conditioner and OMGAH!!!! FANTASTIC! The conditioner is thick and coats the hair really well. The end result, shiny, soft, comb-through easily, manageable hair!
The Aubrey Organics line has been around since the late 60's and have a pretty simple philosophy: great ingredients make great products. They take pride in using only the finest herbal, plant extracts and natural vitamins in all of their products. NO SULFATES are used. All hair types can use this line including dry, normal and oily. I myself prefer the Island Naturals for my permed hair. The White Camelia conditioner, works great on my daughter's thick, curly hair.
Available @ Whole Foods.

Luxe For Less: Beauty Blender...
Dubbed The Ultimate Beauty tool, this egg-shaped makeup applicator was created by two hollywood makeup artists who were sick of using regular sponges. What makes it so great is that it has no hard edges, so makeup doesn’t streak as you blend it in. Using a stippling method ( bouncing the sponge lightly on your face as you apply your makeup) you can blend and soften your cosmetics application. And the pointed tip can be used for those hard to reach places like around the nose and mouth.
The beauty blender retails for $19.95, BUT, you can save a few dollars with Sonia Kashuk's Blending sponge @ Target. Same concept, same effect @ $9.99.

Coco Chanel...
Her name is legend, but her legend has never been told...until NOW! Tune in tonight to Lifetime @ 8pm to watch Shirley MacLain re-live the rags to riches story of Coco Chanel.
Buxom Lips...
Great gloss with high shine and no sticky feel. One of it's claims is that it " creates the look of fuller, more voluptuous lips " . Um, I'm not sure about all of that. You do "feel" the product as it tingles when you have it on, but my lips don't look any fuller because of it. Aside from that, it's a great gloss and a must try.
Available @ Sephora for $18 in 11 shades. My fav at the moment is Dolly, a muted plum shade.
They also have a Full Color line, which is the same formula but more color. The other is more sheer, which I prefer.
Pearly Whites...
Why pay hundreds of dollars to whiten your teeth when you can pay 20 bucks to do so? Assuming you're teeth aren't extremely discolored, these work great! I've been using them for the last 3-4 years about every 6 months or so. I prefer the 7 day cycle. ( 30 days was way too long and I never tried the 3 day). People are always asking me if I get my teeth whitened. I'm telling you, these do the job...So much so that when I went to have my teeth professionally whitened last year @ Brite Smile, ( I don't know what I was looking for...I wanted gleaming, chicklets gum, Alicia Keys kinda white!! ) the dentist told me my teeth where whiter than their whitest shade!
Vic's New Do...

Your Sweetest Spot...
Yup, it's time to talk about it. Aside from the bi-weekly/monthly waxes, are we really taking care of our vajayjays? We pay special attention to and have special products for our eyes, teeth, underarms and other body parts., but what about down there? Now take a look in your beauty aresenal ( go ahead I'll still be here) and tell me how many products are in there for down there? Um yeah, that's what I thought. Sweet Spot Labs has taken care of that and has a line of gentle, ph-balanced products especially for your sweetest spot.
Having worked in women's health for a few years now, I've seen tons of ladies, young and old, who think the remedy to all vajayjay problems is douching. You can ask any women's healthcare professional, douching is a no-no, and can possibly make whatever problems you're having, worse. Sweet Spot Labs products are carefully ph - balanced ( highlight that) for our area. Why does that matter? Because, pH is the measure of acidity. Our sweet spot has a ph of about 4. So to keep bacteria away and maintain a healthy spot, products we use should not exceed that ph level. With the ph and a blend of natural essential oils created to go along with your natural scent, Sweet Spot products takes care of that worry and concern.
The Gentle wash in Basil Grapefruit is my fav. Products include wipettes, mists, washes and the all new bidet-in-a-bottle....GENIUS! ( Quick freshen-ups for unexpected events )...tee-hee...j/k. Scents include citrus galbanum geranium lavender, basil grapefruit or unscented.
I get my products from Douglas Cosmetics over here in Philly, but you can check out their website for more info and other locations!
Fashion Rocks...
With the start of Fashion Week comes Fashion Rocks, when fashion and music come together to put on a fabulous concert benefiting cancer research. Celebs hit the red carpet Friday night for the annual taping of the concert.
Here are a few of my beauty hits on the carpet ( click pics for larger image):
1st up is Bey. I am luvn the heavy winged liner and strong brows. I'm guessing a black liquid liner was used here for that strong/heavy effect. It's all about the eyes here.
Next would be Rih's dark eye, which is pretty much the reverse of Bey's. Her inner rims are lined with black liner. A dark shadow is then added below the eye for a smokey effect with the wing extending from there. A brownish/coppery eyeshadow and pinkish/brown gloss lip finish the look. And her skin is just glowing all ova! FAB!
Charlize's look, again, dark eye, nude lip combo. What did it for me here was her hair. Tousled, loose waves. LUV bed head hair. Classic!
Last would be Keyshia. The smokey eye but with a bluish/silver twist. Great lashes, brow and pink lip. And I'm so happy with her darker hair. LUV it. You've come a long way baby!
And of couse with the favs, there came a few WTFs.
Bewtween Tyra and Ashanti, I didn't know what to do with myself.
I refuse to believe that Jay Manuel did this. I will not accept that! I mean, for once, I just want to see Tyra look soft. Not so damn hard and in your face Ru Paul, I mean really....there's just too much going on here, dontcha think?
And as for 'Shanti, if she doesn't stop it with that damn Pepto Bismol lip I'm gonna scream. Such a pretty girl with this nonsense.
